Edukate Tuition

Tutor

Heather

I am Heather one of the Early Years/KS1 tutors at EduKate. I have a diploma in Children’s care, learning and development and a bachelors degree in Psychology. I have recently qualified as an Early Years Teacher and teach in a local preschool. I’m passionate about children’s education and providing exciting learning opportunities to suit a child’s individual needs. I enjoy discovering the best ways for them to learn and develop, and forming an initial bond to ensure they feel safe and confident in their learning.

Kate, Owner

I am Kate, the owner of EduKate and one of the key stage two tutors. I graduated with a first-class degree in Education in 2014 and since then I have tutored primary-aged children in the south of the city before opening EduKate in Crosby in 2018. I’m passionate about providing alternative learning opportunities to complement students’ formal schooling and help build their confidence so that they are enthused and motivated to learn. I particularly enjoy teaching maths using a hands-on approach and helping students to understand concepts in a new way.

Hannah- KS1/2 and Dyslexia specialist tutor

My name is Hannah and I am one of the 1:1 tutors. I have been teaching in a primary setting for nine years, mostly in KS2. I qualified as a specialist dyslexia tutor in 2019 and love working with the children and seeing their progression. During the sessions we concentrate on auditory, visual and long term memory. We think of strategies that will help each individual learn to the best of their ability. I am a strong believer in practical and bespoke curriculums.

Kaitlin - Maths tutor

My name is Kaitlin and I provide maths tutoring to pupils in KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have a BSc(Hons) Mathematics degree 2:1, a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and 4 years teaching experience. While tutoring at EduKate, I have found small-group and one-to-one tuition to be a great environment for helping pupils to understand mathematical concepts and material, not just memorise procedures. We address misconceptions promptly, encourage pupils to discuss their reasoning and explore multiple ways to solve problems.
